The Farm

Started as a hobby by Carolyn Davidson in 2005 and grew from there. Now Towri is a known Agritourism destination in the Scenic Rim! Open to the public once a month for the Towri Growers Markets plus: Weekly bus tours, monthly sheep cheese making classes and of course show stopping events! Towri takes pride in being long standing members of Scenic Rim Eat Local Month and Destination Scenic Rim’s Farm Gate Trail, both incredible forms of regional collaboration.
The Towri property consists of 300 acres of scenic rural land, a purpose-built dairy with specialist milking equipment and the Towri homestead and gardens. With the peaceful country lifestyle that we have here, life at Towri is close to perfect – especially if you’re one of our 350 sheep.
Our herd of sheep are specifically bred for the milking industry and although this is a relatively new industry to Australia, sheep milk is prized worldwide for it’s clean taste and health benefits. Our flock of 350 is made up of Awassi’s (a Middle Eastern fat tail sheep), one of the best milking sheep breeds in the world.
Head Cheese Maker

Carolyn has always held a passion for gourmet cheese, claiming “Cheese is milk seeking immortality”. Carolyn took this love to a new level several years ago by completing a variety of cheese-making courses and creating her own cheeses. Instantly these became a hit amongst family and friends.
Sheep have always held a special place in Carolyn’s heart, having grown up on her family property in Western Queensland’s Merino sheep country, and later helping her husband run his family property at Longreach. Carolyn’s love of sheep and cheese making brought Towri Sheep Cheesery to life in 2005.
The Towri Sheep Cheesery now houses some of the world’s best milk-producing sheep breeds and produces only the finest sheep cheeses. The art of cheese-making allows Carolyn to persistently push the boundaries and create ever-improving exquisite cheeses and yoghurt.
